How We Verify Prices
How a provider gets listed, what each stamp means, and how to fix a mistake.
Our Rules
- We publish a provider only after it confirms its prices with us or posts them on its own website. No unconfirmed listings.
- Every price shows its source (a call with the date, or a link to the provider's page) and the date we checked it.
- We never estimate, average or guess a provider's price. If we do not know something, we say “Not stated”. A missing answer is never shown as No.
- Before we list a price from a phone call, the provider must say we can list it. We note who said so and when.
- Prices older than 6 months get an out-of-date warning.
- No provider pays to be listed, to rank higher or to be verified. We take no referral fees and sell no leads.
- We make no claims about what any treatment does. Nothing here is medical advice.
What The Stamps Mean
- Verified by phone
- We called the provider, they gave the price and said we could list it.
- Verified online
- The price is posted on the provider's own website. We read it twice, on separate passes.
- Confirmed by provider
- The provider sent or confirmed the price through our form, and we checked it came from the practice.
Published Estimates Are Different
Our cost guide shows ranges from other sources, such as Pearl's dental cost guide. Those carry a Published estimate label with the source and its date. We did not verify them, and they are never shown as a provider's price.
Names, Titles and Licenses
We show each clinician's credentials exactly as the provider writes them, and we do not add titles such as Dr. in our own copy. Where a license number is public, we look it up with the state board and note the date. Lookups: NC dental board, NC physical therapy board, NC massage and bodywork board.
Fix Or Remove A Listing
Providers can correct, update or remove a listing for free. Anyone can report a price change.
